1) Weebly Student Websites
All of my classroom websites are run through Weebly. With Weebly education, I have the opportunity to create student websites for everyone in my classes. In the first week of school everyone will create their Weebly website and profile. You will use the website to create an online portfolio and news blog. For the duration of the school year the websites will be password protected. People will only be able to view your work and profile if they have your password. At the end of the year, you can choose whether you want to unlock your site. |
2) Google Drive
Everyone in this class should have access to their Peddie Gmail account. If you have not done so already, take advantage of the Google Drive application. We will use Google Drive to share and save our work. It is a useful tool to collaborate on group projects and peer-edit each other's work. Please create a US History folder in your Google Drive account as soon as possible. |
3) Socrative Student You do not need to download anything for this application. I will use Socrative occasionally to give short quizzes or surveys. I will tell you when you need to access it for class. It should work on both laptops and phones. All you need to do is visit the Socrative website and enter the classroom number (896844). |
4) Twitter (Possibly) Let me first start by saying, you do not have to get a twitter account. I was (and still am slightly) adverse to the twitter universe so I understand if its not your cup of tea! This year I am thinking of experimenting with some twitter updates. You can follow my teacher twitter. You can follow me @MsGraefe |
Any Ideas?
I am well aware that many of your probably have far more technological knowledge than I do. If you found an application or website that you think could help this class tell me! Or if you have an idea on how to make something better, don't be afraid to voice your opinion and share it. I am also willing to give extra credit to my tech-savvy students who can create useful apps or sites for this class! |
